This site is about the game ACTION & ADVENTURE which is described in the video above. The video talks a lot about what the game isn't but leaves you in the dark about exactly how the game works.
You get 1 Primary Ability, 1 Secondary Ability, and 5 Tertiary Abilities.
Your Primary Ability is your strongest attack or defense, followed by your Secondary Ability. Tertiary Abilities are either weaker or non combat abilities.
You have to have one weakness but if you take more than one you can get extra tertiary abilities.
CHARACTER CREATION
1 Pick your Abilities
2 Pick your weakness
YOU'RE DONE.
Your Primary Ability is your strongest attack or defense, followed by your Secondary Ability. Tertiary Abilities are either weaker or non combat abilities.
You have to have one weakness but if you take more than one you can get extra tertiary abilities.
ADVANCEMENT
This game focuses on the adventure not character development. Players are encouraged to keep their characters consistent over time. That doesn't mean you don't advance at all, but you will never have more than 1 Primary Ability and 1 Secondary Ability.
Instead of keeping track of points players are rewarded for completing adventures.
After your first adventure and every odd numbered adventure, you will gain 1 new Tertiary Ability.
If you have more than 1 weakness you can drop one instead of gaining a new Ability
After your second adventure, and ever even numbered adventure you will gain 1 Upgrade, to improve an ability you already have.
If you fail an adventure, you don't get a reward.
EQUIPMENT
Standard equipment, even if it's magical or high tech doesn't count as an ability. Anything you can pick up during an adventure or buy, can also be lost and isn't a part of who you are. Some Abilities can be defined as equipment if you want, (using weaknesses) but these can never be permanently lost, because they are part of who you are.
